KARINE
PADILHA

Karine Padilha is a Brazilian multidisciplinary artist and psychologist. In the theoretical field, she dedicates herself to research and teaching at the intersections between art and psychology. In the field of artistic practice, her work ranges from writing, photography, painting, and installation, developing a minimalist language permeated by references to Eastern thought and aesthetics. Her research starts from duality as a poetic principle, investigating the interdependence between seemingly opposing forces and the possibility of their coexistence in balance and tension. Her work explores issues related to permanence and impermanence, presence and absence, silence and noise, chaos and order, in a search for balance between that which opposes and that which complements.
